$12,000 Reward Offered For Serial Rapist In Eastern Queens

 

A rapist is stalking Eastern Queens, and police are offering a $12,000 reward for his arrest and conviction as well as seeking the public’s help in finding and arresting him. So far, eight victims have reported being attacked and sexually assaulted.


 In the eight incidents, the suspect, armed with a knife, has approached the victims, all of whom have been black females ranging from 15 to 29 years old, on the street, forced each victim to a secluded area and sexually assaulted them. The latest incident took place on Wednesday, July 9, at about 8 a.m., in the rear of 121-02 Merrill St. within the confines of the 113th Precinct. The victim was a 16-year-old black female on her way to summer school who told police the suspect dragged her behind a church near Brocher Road and Merrill Street and sodomized her on a stairwell.


The earliest incident reported took place Thursday, November 8, of last year at about 9 p.m. in the vicinity of 116th Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard, also within the confines of the 113th Precinct. The victim was a 15-year-old black female.


Almost two weeks later, on Wednesday, November 21, another 15-year-old black female was assaulted shortly after 9 p.m. in the in the vicinity of 109th Avenue and 155th Street within the confines of the 103rd Precinct. The next day, Thursday, November 22, at about 6:30 p.m., a 22-year-old black female was sexually assaulted, in the vicinity of 109th Avenue and 157th Street, also in the 103rd Precinct.


The last incident known to take place in 2007 occurred on Sunday, December 30, at about 1:30 a.m., in the vicinity of 170-49 118th Ave., within the confines of the 113th Precinct. The victim was a 23-yeaer-old black female.


The rapist next struck on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, when at about 6:35 pm. he assaulted the oldest of his eight known victims, a 29-year-old black female, at 120th Avenue and the Van Wyck Expressway within the confines of the 113th Precinct. Three days later, on Saturday, January 12 at about 10:25 p.m., he assaulted an 18-year-old black female in front of 109-32 156th St. within the confines of the 103rd Precinct. No further incidents were reported until Saturday, May 10, when at about 10 p.m. he assaulted a 17-year-old black female in the vicinity of  230-36 Lansing Ave. within the confines of the 105th Precinct.


The New York City Police Department is offering a $12,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the suspect. He has a tattoo of a D on the inside of his right wrist, victims said; otherwise, only sketches made with the assistance of some of the victims provide any means of identification.
