DWI Repeater Apprehended

A Queens Village man with a drunk driving conviction was arrested again on December 15 for cruising around local streets while under the influence, police said.

Krishnan Perumal, 40, wound up colliding into two vehicles parked on Hillside Avenue at 212th Place at about 8:30 p.m., police said. Perumal then kept driving until his car stalled about two blocks away.

Police said Perumal got out of his car and started to leave the scene. Police on routine patrol out of the 105th Precinct who stopped Perumal noticed he had bloodshot, watery eyes and he was wobbling.

They checked the Department of Motor Vehicle records and discovered Perumal's license had previously been suspended three times, and that he was convicted of drunken driving in July 2003.

Perumal was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of two accidents.

DWI Rampant In 105th

Police arrested a 56-year-old Queens Village man on December 14 after he plowed his car into the rear of a parked 2005 Land Rover, sending the vehicle off the curb and into a tree, according to the report.

Martinano Pablo was driving his 1996 black Mitsubishi on Edmore Avenue at about 3:50 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and hit the Land Rover. Police recovered five empty 16- ounce beer cans and one half-empty 16-ounce beer can from the rear seat of the Mitsubishi, authorities said.

Police said, Martinano tested at .166 on the Breathalyzer, which is twice the legal limit. Martinano was charged with drunk driving and unlicensed driving.

110th Precinct

Target Clerk Busted

Police arrested a19-year-old employee at the Target store on Queens Boulevard last week after she helped herself to $1,800 worth of store gift cards, authorities said.

Erica Mendoza issued a gift card for $800 on December 8, then pocketed the card and did not pay for it. A week later, Mendoza issued another card for $1,000, kept the card and did not pay for it, authorities said.

Mendoza, who allegedly admitted to the thefts, was charged with petit larceny.

115th Precinct

Hunt Corona Shooter

Queens detectives are seeking help from the public to identify and locate suspect(s) sought in connection with a December 17 fatal street shooting in Corona.

Police said Roberto Molina, 33, was shot to death shortly before 9 p.m. on 114th Street between Astoria and Northern Boulevards. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are trying to determine a motive and identify a suspect in the shooting.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline at 1- 800-577-TIPS. The Hotline is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s).

Gunpoint Robbery Police in Jackson Heights are searching for a brazen thug who robbed a man at gunpoint on December 16. They claimed the thief walked up to the victim at 71st Street and 41st Avenue brandishing a weapon and demanding cash. When the victim did not comply, the thug stole his wallet and ran north on 71st Street, police said.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline at 1- 800-577-TIPS.

Boozed-Up Assault

Police arrested a 23-year-old Queens man last week after he struck a man in the head with a bottle outside a Jackson Heights restaurant.

Wilson Niola hit the victim with the bottle on December 9, outside El Conquistador, on Junction Boulevard near 42nd Avenue. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he required 10 stitches to close a deep cut over his left eye, police said.

Niola was charged with assault, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon.
