Avella, Vallone Honor Homeric Award Recipient
City Councilmembers Tony Avella and Peter Vallone Jr. attended the Chian Federation 30th Annual Homeric Award Gala on December 1. As part of the festivities, Avella and Vallone presented a City Council Proclamation to the Chian Federation and the Homeric Award honoree, Eugene Rossidis, president of the American Hellenic Institute. The Homeric Award was established 30 years ago to honor individuals who have distinguished themselves as advocates of human rights and whose strong, abiding commitment to democratic ideals is an exemplary model to humanity.
