Awards Presented At UCCA Buffet-Raffle

Community leaders and elected officials joined in the United Community Civic Association (UCCA) holiday awards brunch and fundraising raffle at Ammos Estiatorio at 20-30 Steinway St. on December 2. The UCCA 2007 award recipients were: Woman of the Year, Caryn Schwab, Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens executive director; Men of the Year, Bhupendra R. Patel, M.D., Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens director of medicine, Warren D. Kroeppel, LaGuardia Airport general manager and Martin F. Horn, New York City Department of Correction commissioner, and Valerie Fisher Community Service Award, Joseph Carbone of the Department of Correction Ceremonial Unit. A raffle, organized by Raffle Chairperson Rita Morris and held to raise funds for the charitable activities supported by UCCA, followed the awards ceremony.
