Borough-Wide Blotter Muggers Glue Victim's Eyes Queens detectives are seeking help from the public in their search for two thugs who slashed a woman and glued her eyes shut on November 29. The 33-year-old victim told police she was walking to her mother's home on 71st Avenue in Glendale at about 7:40 p.m. when she was attacked. She told police the pair stole between $800 and $1,000 from her, slashed her and splashed an adhesive on her face gluing her eyes shut. The woman was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where she remained in stable condition for several days. Detectives are investigating the victim's account of the incident, and are asking eyewitnesses to come forward with information or call the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. 109th Precinct Nab Graffiti Vandals Police in Flushing nabbed a pair of teenagers on November 20, charged with scrawling graffiti tags on private property in Whitestone. The teens were caught redhanded at about 1:30 a.m., vandalizing the property at Francis Lewis Boulevard and 23rd Avenue. Police said one of the teens was tagging the property while the other acted as his lookout and was keeping an eye out for police. Both suspects were charged with making graffiti and felony criminal mischief. 110th Precinct Florida Cops Nab Queens Shooter Police in West Palm Beach, Florida arrested a 23-year-old ex-con recently who was sought by Queens police in connection with a fatal stabbing. Police said Andrew Lopez shot David Deolo, 22, in the chest with a sawed-off shotgun during a dispute on Van Doren Street in Corona on April 22. Lopez allegedly shot Deolo, then tried to shoot another 24-year-old man who they believe was the target of the attack. The shotgun jammed when Lopez aimed the weapon at the second man, who was then stabbed by a second, armed suspect, police said. Deolo was pronounced dead at the scene and the second victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his wounds. Florida police said Lopez confessed to the shooting shortly after his arrest. Suspect Tries To Shoot Cops Two officers on routine patrol out of the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst arrested a gun-toting thug on November 26. An officer and sergeant spotted Nnamdi Clarke, 33, toss a firearm to the ground near 97th Place and 57th Avenue at about 12:46 a.m. Clarke then bolted when he saw the officers and pulled a second gun firing one round at them but missed. Clarke then took off, leading the cops on a short foot chase that ended with his arrest. The perpetrator was charged with attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. |
