Francis Lewis H.S. Girls' Volleyball Team Takes City Championship

The Francis Lewis H.S. Girls' volleyball team last Friday at York College clinched their third A Division PSAL championship in seven years. The Lewis Patriots, coached by Arnie Rosenbaum, triumphed over their counterparts from Benjamin Cardozo H.S., winning the first of two games, 25-21 and the second, 25-22. The team consists of two freshmen, Yasmine Briedj and Alessia Russello, seven sophomores, Ellie Alexandrou, Euginia Anthony, Jillian Escobar, Hikari Miyazawa, Dominik Mrozowska, Alicja Pawelec and Chereese Sheen, three juniors, Danielle Chu, Isamar Colorado and Melissa Prusak, and four seniors, Anna Baran, Jean Castano, Jennifer Dortch and Anna Krauze.
