FIAOQ Executive Director Gets Mayoral Award

On Wednesday, November 14 the Federation of Italian American Organizations of Queens (FIAOQ) met at the organization's headquarters in Astoria to recap the recent success of the 2007 Queens County Columbus Parade and to discuss upcoming events for 2008. Angie Iannece Markham, FIAOQ executive director, received a citation from Mayor Michael Bloomberg in recognition of her outstanding service to the community and her receiving the Guest of Honor Award from the Taminent Regular Democratic Club at the club's 76th annual dinner dance on November 3.

FIAOQ is a 501 (c) (3) Not-for- Profit umbrella organization made up of more than 35 Italian-American societies and organizations throughout Queens County. It is the largest organization of its kind in New York state. For more information, call Jerry Iannece at 718-961-5550.
