Boro Blotter Hunting Armed Robber Queens detectives are seeking help from the public to identify and locate an armed robber who held up a Maspeth grocery store on November 6. Police said the suspect entered the Grand Avenue store at about 10 p.m. brandishing a handgun and threatened a clerk firing one round into a wall before grabbing an undisclosed amount of cash from a register and fleeing the scene. The suspect was wearing black clothes and gloves and a black ski mask at the time of the robbery. The store clerk was not injured in the incident, police said. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. 109th Precinct Police Nab Purse- Snatcher Police at the 109th Precinct arrested a 21-year-old Flushing man on November 4 just hours after he allegedly robbed and assaulted a local woman. The victim, a 22-year-old female, was walking near 157th Street and 35th Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. when the perpetrator, Jose Ruiz, grabbed her purse, knocking her to the ground. She was treated and released at a local hospital for an ankle injury she suffered during the attack, police said. Detectives at the Union Street police precinct canvassed the area following the robbery and tracked Ruiz to his residence on 35th Avenue, based on victim and eyewitness descriptions, police sources said. Ruiz was arrested on robbery and assault charges at about 10:50 p.m. as he walked along 157th Street near 35th Avenue. 111th Precinct Knife-Tossing Hubby Busted Police arrested a 42-yearold Oakland Gardens man on November 7 after he threw a steak knife and a plate of food at his wife during an argument at their 226th Street home. According to the police, Antonio Timpa allegedly tossed the knife at his 41-yearold wife while the couple's 2- year-old daughter was sitting nearby. He also threatened to kill her if she called police, authorities said. Timpa was charged with attempted assault, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing and harassment. Hunt Gas Station Gunmen Queens detectives are searching for a pair of gunmen who held up an Oakland Gardens gas station on November 5. According to the police the pair walked into the Exxon station on 219th Street and the Horace Harding Expressway at about 10 p.m., where they emptied three registers and fled on foot. Police are asking anyone with information on the suspects to contact the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline at 1-900-577-TIPS. 112th Precinct Sketch Of Dentist-Killer Released Police officials last week released a sketch of a suspect that can be viewed at the NYPD Web site. They announced a $41,000 reward on October 28 for the murder of a Forest Hills dentist. Police sources said the sketch was based on witness descriptions of the man who gunned down Daniel Malakov, 34, in front of his 4-year-old daughter at the Annandale Playground. Malakov, who had been awarded custody of the girl on October 3 after a lengthy court battle with his wife, was at the playground to hand over his daughter to Dr. Mazoltuv (Marina) Borukhova, his ex-wife, for a visit. The suspect was described as a white male, 48 to 53 years old, with salt-and-pepper hair, 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-9 inches tall, with a stocky build.
