Queens Blvd. Extended Care Facility Has Frightfully Good Halloween

Residents, staff, families and volunteers enjoyed a special week of Halloween fun and festivities at Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility. The celebrations culminated on Wednesday, October 31, with a costume and pumpkin decorating contest. The frightfully fine costumes were an especially big hit and brought lots of smiles and laughter to the residents. The staff pumpkin decoration competition delighted everyone and the many original displays added to the week's festivities.

Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility, located at 61-11 Queens Blvd. in Woodside, is a state-of-the-art nursing home, rehab center and adult day care center. The facility welcomes groups and individuals who are interested in volunteering or visiting. For information, contact Linda Newby, director of therapeutic recreation, at 718-205-0288. Picture No. 1 Queens Boulevard Extended Care Staff and Volunteers are ready to entertain residents with singing and dancing. Picture No. 2 These costumes received top honors for their creativity. Picture No. 3 Resident Anne Dummer enjoyed dressing up for the Halloween party. Picture No. 4 Two East staff displayed a pumpkin scarecrow that was judged the top winner. Picture No. 5 Shrek delighted everyone with his winsome smile. Picture No. 6 A Ladybug, decorated by the Nursing Department, and Frosty the Snowman, by the Finance Department, brought lots of smiles to everyone. Picture No. 7 Welcome to Eerieville was created by the 5th floor staff. Picture No. 8 Dietary staff were proud of their artistic work in presenting the pumpkin family.
