Fall Steinway Sale Days Draw Crowds
for the semiannual Steinway Street Sale Days, held in spring and fall each year. Bargains galore and free entertainment for all ages have brought smart shoppers to "the world's longest department store" for more than 60 years and the three days of October 12, 13 and 14 were no exception. Bobo the Hobo, a Steinway Street Sale Days tradition, delighted children of all ages with his magic tricks.

Shoppers were also encouraged to fill out six Lucky Shopper coupons in the Sale Days circular and drop them off at participating stores to enter a drawing for several prizes. The sidewalk sale is sponsored by the Steinway Street Business Improvement District and the
Queens Gazette, the publisher of which, Tony Barsamian, planned, printed and distributed the first Steinway Sale Days circular in 1978.
