Nourish NYC announces the opening of its first neighborhood retail location in Sunnyside. Nourish NYC is the first store of its kind in the area, providing high-quality, natural and organic goods, vitamins and supplements, body and hair care, natural weight loss, fitness nutrition and even a mother and child section. Nourish NYC offers a contemporary approach that surpasses traditional health food establishments, giving customers interesting choices plus a simple and fun way to navigate through the store. Nourish NYC demystifies and simplifies buying natural and organic products by providing sensible nutritional information, and personal attention to each customer.
Owner Claire Carsen said, "We understand that people today are more concerned and much smarter about the types of foods they eat, medicines they ingest and the lifestyles they lead.
They are looking for more natural remedies, and fewer processed substances, and are increasingly wary about potentially harmful ingredients. We hope to help make for a new experience in healthy shopping."
As he cut the ribbon to officially open Nourish NYC, City Councilmember Eric Gioia said "Nourish NYC is a great addition to the already flourishing community of small businesses in Sunnyside. As the son of small business owners, I understand how important they are to the overall prosperity of Sunnyside. What's more, Nourish NYC gives our neighborhood more healthy options. It's a win-win situation for Sunnyside."
Carsen, a three-time marathon runner and Sunnyside resident, added, "The Nourish NYC concept here was born when I got tired of having to go into Manhattan for premium natural foods, safe hair and skin care, organic children's products, and even gift ideas. Now they're available here!"
Gioia is a champion of neighborhood revitalization. He was the prime sponsor of the Sunnyside BID, or Business Improvement District, which was signed into law last month. The BID, of which Nourish NYC will be a part, brings businesses together to pool resources and enhance the Sunnyside community. In addition, Gioia has partnered with community organizations to fight graffiti by painting it over quickly, brought the Doe Fund to Queens to clean up area streets, and provided funding for the rehabilitation of the iconic Sunnyside Arch.
Nourish NYC is located at 43-15 Queens Blvd., Sunnyside. For more information or to contact Nourish NYC, call 917-747-3767 or e-mail info@nourishnyc.com.
