Curtains Up On New QTIP Season Queens Theatre In The Park (QTIP) was: "Created from a multitude of languages, rich cultures and diverse neighborhoods, we are one community when the curtain goes up at Queens Theatre in the Park!" Jeffrey Rosenstock, executive director said. The 2007/2008 season will host a myriad of talent. "Kathie Lee Gifford, Jerry Stiller, Betty Buckley, Pilobolus, Jill Eikenberry, Anthony Rapp, Darci Kistler, Paul Taylor and Florence Henderson are just a few of the outstanding name entertainers performing on the Main Stage [Claire Shulman Playhouse] this September through May," said Associate Producing Director Lois Newhart. "We're delighted with the caliber of performers we're able to attract to the borough of Queens." "We're equally excited," added Rosenstock, "to present premier national and international companies such as Ballet Hispanico, Cherish the Ladies, Pharaoh's Daughter, and the U.S. debut of Korea's Pasha Dance Company and Taiwan's Sun Shier Dance Theatre." In total, the Queens theater will present nine dance events, six full theatre productions, a dozen family and kids programs, some 15 concerts and special events, and another dozen new play development presentations. "All of this is in addition to our festival presentations. And there are always more events to add as opportunities present themselves throughout the season," said Public Relations Director Sam Rossi. "In addition to our 11th JPMorgan Chase Latino Cultural Festival held this past summer, the theater will present three more festivals." |
