Decoy Operation Nets 10 For Alcohol Sales To Minors

Six men and four women who own and/or work at various bodegas and corner stores in the 114th Precinct were charged with having unlawful dealings with a child and engaging in the prohibited sale of alcohol to a minor after police conducted decoy operation last Wednesday, October 3.

Two white females 21 years of age were arrested, one at a store at 40-11 30th Ave. and the other at a store at 41-15 31st Ave., a Hispanic female 24 years of age was arrested at a store at 22-24 31st St. and an Indian female 49 years of age was arrested at a store at 37-19 Ditmars Blvd.

A 23-year-old Indian male was arrested at a neighboring store at 37-16 Ditmars Blvd.; another Indian male, 25 years of age, was arrested at a store at 23-33 31st St. Two other Indian males, 34 and 48 years old, were arrested at stores at 36-01 Ditmars Blvd. and 31-21 Ditmars Blvd., respectively. A 52-year-old Asian male was arrested in a store at 44-08 31st Ave., and a 37-yearold male was arrested at a store at 24-01 31st St. All sold alcohol to a minor under 21 years of age.

Wednesday, October 3:

• A 16-year-old black male on property at Broadway and 48th Street with no purpose or permission and who refused to leave upon request was charged with disorderly conduct and loitering.

• A 45-year-old Hispanic male observed on property at 32-24 Vernon Blvd. without permission was charged with criminal trespass.

• A 15-year-old Hispanic male was observed with a gravity knife in public at Long Island City H.S., 14-30 Broadway, and was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Thursday, October 4:

• A 21-year-old white male was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after he was observed with marijuana in public at 57th Street and 30th Avenue.

• A 26-year-old Hispanic male was charged with forgery and urinating in public after he was seen urinating in public at 30th Avenue and 30th Street and was found in possession of forged identification.

• A 31-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal trespass after he was observed at 50-02 Northern Blvd. without permission.

• A 57-year-old black female was charged with assault and harassment after she hit a victim on the head with her arm at 32-23 31st St.

• A 22-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after he was observed with marijuana in public at 35th Avenue and 43rd Street.

• A 26-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal trespass and criminal possession of marijuana after he was observed to be at 35th Avenue and 42nd Street without permission and was found in possession of marijuana.

• A 25-year-old white male was charged with criminal trespass after he was seen on property at 35th Avenue and 43rd Street without permission.

• A 19-year-old black female was charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, criminal trespass and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public after she was observed drinking beer in public inside Athens Square Park at 30th Street and 30th Avenue. The park was closed at the time.
