Undefeated Bryant Beats Lafayette 26-0

The William Cullen Bryant H.S. varsity football team remains undefeated after beating Lafayette Educational Complex of Brooklyn, 26- 0, for their third consecutive victory this young PSAL season. Bryant mounted an impressive offensive attack that included a perfect afternoon for Bryant Owls quarterback John Akhnonkh, who was three completions on three passes for a total of 70 yards. Akhnonkh hit two receivers and Felipe Cardoso made two catches for 55 yards and one touchdown and Justin Polizzi added another reception for five yards.
On the ground, the Bryant runners were awesome. Darro Clarke led all runners with 80 yards, although he did not score. Justin Polizzi scored a rushing touchdown on seven carries for 13 yards and John Aknoukh added another rushing touchdown on only two carries. Markus Boisrond rushed for 27 yards on six carries and Mohammed Azam rounded out the rushing attack with 30 yards rushing on eight carries.

Bryant had to punt only once with their punter, Romel Acevedo, hitting a 33-yarder to move Lafayette back into their own territory.
Bryant dominated the defense by making 34 tackles with Mario Yu making six tackles, Antoine Humphrey and Konstantin Kostis making five tackles each and Dean Brown adding four tackles. The team effort kept Bryant undefeated and in third place in the cup division trailing only John Adams and Franklin K. Lane in the standings.
Bryant faces Wadleigh H.S, at Flushing Field on Saturday, September 29 at 11 a.m.
