Crystal Windows Makes Inc. 5000 List growing private companies in the United States. Crystal achieved the ranking with a revenue growth rate of almost 30 percent over the three-year review period. Inc. Magazine, developer of the Inc. 5000 list, notes that more than 5 million firms with employees currently exist in the country, placing dynamic, fast growing Inc. 5000 companies like Crystal in the very top business echelon nationally in terms of growth. "I am extremely proud of Crystal to have earned inclusion in the prestigious Inc. 5000 list," Crystal Executive Vice President Steve Chen said. "Since the company's founding in 1990, Crystal and its dedicated employees have risen to every challenge as we have grown from startup to major manufacturer. This national recognition is a testament to their hard work and success." When compared with other New York state and New York City firms, Crystal's corporate standing is even more impressive. One of only 29 manufacturers from New York state to make the list of 5,000, Crystal was tops among those fast-growing New York companies in terms of employees and second in terms of annual revenues. Crystal especially stood out among the nine New York City-based manufacturers on the national Inc. 5000 list as the largest by far in terms of both employees (374) and revenues ($57.8 million). "I decided many years ago that New York City was where I wanted to locate our business headquarters, and as Crystal has grown, expanded and prospered, I have never regretted that decision," Crystal President and Founder Thomas Chen said. "Though we are a select few, I am honored to be one of New York City's shining stars of the manufacturing industry spotlighted by the Inc. Magazine listing." Crystal's ranking as a fast growth national leader is also noteworthy since a company's growth rate typically slows as a company expands and matures from small to mid-size to large firm. This growth slowdown is particularly true for manufacturers. Yet despite significant growth and expansion over its 17-year history, the national manufacturer still sustains a very impressive growth rate. Crystal is also among an elite group of two dozen or so firms from various branches of the fenestration industry (manufacturing, installation and equipment) to be included in the Inc. 5000 listing. Here again, Crystal was one of the largest fenestration firms listed in terms of employees and total annual revenue. The 2007 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth over the period 2003 through 2006. The list includes only companies that are U.S. based, privately held, are not subsidiaries or divisions of other firms and had threshold revenues of at least $200,000 in 2003 and $2 million in 2006. The Inc. 5000 list is an extension of Inc. Magazine's annual Inc. 500 list, which is highlighted in the September 2007 issue. All the Inc. 5000 firms, along with their corporate profiles, are listed on the magazine's Web site at www.inc.com.
