Tidbits From Hollywood East

We understand that Hollywood loves the Astoria and Long Island City area since we are constantly being contacted telling us that someone's favorite star was sighted in the neighborhood.

With the major studios in Western Queens (Kaufman and Silvercup), it is no wonder that celebrities are virtually on every block. (The Do Not Park signs posted on trees and poles are a dead giveaway that some sort of filming is going on in the neighborhood.)

Recently The Foundry, 42-38 Ninth St., Long Island City, was the hot spot for several important scenes in "Gossip Girls"- the latest in teenage TV shows. And Astoria's very own Kim Myles is reportedly one of the two finalists in the show "Design Star" on HGTV cable.

We've been told that "America's Got Talent" had four Astoria women in the finals, and Drew Carey's new game show "Power of 10", is also filming in Astoria.

Keep the cards, letters, faxes and emails coming. Let us know who and what you see. Better yet, take a picture and e-mail it to us at qgazette@aol.com so we can all keep seeing what's going on in Hollywood East.
