Robert M. Werner has been appointed vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Parker Jewish Institute, New Hyde Park. Formerly vice president for financial services of the Catholic Health Care System, Werner will be responsible for the financial management of the Institute's 527-bed inpatient programs, encompassing sub-acute care, shortterm rehabilitation and long-term care, as well as Parker's community health programs, including home health care, hospice, adult day health care, Alzheimer's day care, outpatient physician and geriatric dental services and physical and occupational therapy. In his new capacity, Werner will develop, interpret, coordinate and administer the organization's policies on finance, accounting, insurance and internal controls, maintain records and procedures to safeguard assets and participate in strategic planning.

In addition to the Catholic Health Care System, where he was responsible for all operating financial services as well as integration of the finance departments of seven nursing facilities, Werner has held positions as director of finance for Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, CFO of Urban Health Plan, Inc., The Bronx, and associate comptroller of Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
A resident of Floral Park, Werner is married and the father of five. He is a graduate of Pace University, and has been a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association since 1990. He enjoys golf and coaching youth sports programs.
