Iannece Family And Friends Invade Sicily

The immediate Iannece family posed at the Valley of Temples in Agrigento, Sicily. Jerry Iannece (r.) sports a broken arm he sustained in the annual Queens Democrat/Republican softball game prior to departing on the trip.
Jerry Iannece, former chairman of Community Board 11 in Northeast Queens, now vice president of the Italian-American Organizations of Queens and president of the Saint Michael's Society of Senerchia, Italy, recently organized a group trip to Italy. More than 25 Iannece family members and members and friends of the Saint Michael's Society toured Sicily and had a reunion with family and friends in Senerchia, their ancestral home, near Naples in the province of Avellino.

"It's important for all of us to appreciate and get reacquainted with our roots. If we know where we came from, we'll have a better idea of where we're going," Iannece declared.
