114th Police Precinct Blotter:
Search Warrant Yields Drugs, Weapons

On Thursday, August 2, officers of the 114th Police Precinct executed the 35th search warrant of 2007. A residence at 3-04 27th Ave. was targeted for narcotics sales, due to intelligence gathered. The evidence collected was used for probable cause in the issuance of the search warrant. Cocaine, drug paraphernalia, nunchucks and a bullet were confiscated at the scene and a 29-yearold Asian male was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of marijuana.

The 33rd and 34th search warrants of 2007 were executed on Thursday, July 19 and Tuesday, July 24. On July 19, a 24-year-old Hispanic male was found in possession of marijuana at 30-90 14th St. and charged with criminal possession of marijuana. On July 24 at 25-22 Steinway St., two Asian males 35 and 41 years old were found in possession of stolen property and charged with falsification of business records and criminal possession of stolen property.

All three warrants were executed under the direct supervision of 114th Precinct Commanding Officer Inspector Brian McCarthy.

Within the span of two days, 12 people were arrested for fare-beating at the N and W elevated train station at Broadway and 31st Street. On Friday, July 27 two white females 31 and 38 years old, a 20-year-old Hispanic female and a 21-year-old white male and two Hispanic males 17 and 49 years old were arrested; on Sunday, July 29, a 20-year-old white female, three Asian females 24, 26 and 32 years old, and a 31-year-old Asian male and a 29-year-old Hispanic male were arrested. All 12 were charged with criminal trespass and theft of service.

114th Police Precinct Blotter Highlights Sunday, August 5: • A 28-year-old Hispanic male was charged with urinating in public after he was observed urinating in public at 25-34 Broadway.

• A 24-year-old Hispanic female was observed urinating in public at 35th Avenue and 35th Street and upon further investigation was found to be wanted on an active warrant. She was charged with public urination.

• At 40-07 12th St. a 20-year-old black female grabbed a victim by the throat and slammed the victim's head into a wall. She was charged with assault.

• At 44th Street and 31st Avenue two Hispanic males 27 and 28 years old were observed driving another person's vehicle without a license on a sidewalk, causing injuries to others. They exhibited signs of intoxication when they were stopped and were charged with reckless endangerment, unlicensed operator and DWI.

• A 49-year-old white male struck a victim about the body and was charged with assault and harassment at the 114th Precinct station house, 34-16 Astoria Blvd.

• At 23-50 Crescent St., a 66-year-old white male forcibly grabbed a victim, causing injury, and was charged with assault and harassment.

Saturday, August 4:

• A 33-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal contempt and harassment after he violated a valid order of protection by repeatedly knocking on the door of a victim's residence at 46-15 30th Ave.

• A 33-year-old Hispanic female was charged with assault and harassment after she punched a victim at Broadway and Steinway Street.

• At 21-13 Astoria Blvd., a 25-year-old Hispanic female scratched a victim all over the body, causing injury, and was charged with assault.

• Two white males 35 and 42 years old were fighting in public at 30-20 23rd Ave. and were charged with disorderly conduct, assault and harassment.

• A 37-year-old black male was observed drinking in public at Steinway Street and Broadway and on further investigation was found to be wanted on an active warrant. He was charged with bail jumping and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public.

Friday, August 3:

• A 16-year-old white male was charged with assault after he punched and head butted two victims at 25-85 43rd St.

• A 22-year-old Hispanic male observed inside a closed New York City playground at Hoyt Avenue North and 31st Street was found in possession of cocaine and marijuana and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass, unlawful possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

• A 38-year-old Hispanic male pushed a victim to the ground, causing injury, at 29-01 BQE. He was charged with assault and harassment.

• A 28-year-old black male was observed with marijuana in public on Astoria Boulevard between 73rd and 72nd Streets and was charged with criminal possession of marijuana.

• A 31-year-old black male was charged with grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument after he used a forged credit card at an establishment at Newtown Road and 49th Street.

• A 24-year-old Hispanic was observed inside a closed New York City park at 30th Street and 30th Avenue drinking beer in public and was charged with criminal trespass and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public.

• A 52-year-old Asian male was charged with criminal mischief after he broke a window at 25-03 Steinway St.

• At 30th Street and 30th Avenue a 40-year-old white female engaged in a fight in public and was observed drinking vodka. She was charged with disorderly conduct and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public.

• An 18-year-old black female fighting in public at 30th Avenue and 30th Street was charged with disorderly conduct.

Thursday, August 2:

• A 20-year-old black male was observed drinking beer in public at Broadway and 51st Street and on further investigation, was found to be wanted on an active warrant. He was charged with bail jumping and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public.

• Four Hispanic males, one 25 years old, two 26 years old and one 29 years old were observed dealing cocaine at 62-17 Northern Blvd. and were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance.

• Two white males 30 and 32 years old were charged with robbery, assault and criminal mischief after they struck a victim with a metal rod and punched him repeatedly while stealing his necklace at 31-16 20th Ave.

• A 29-year-old white male was charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment after he threatened a victim with a knife at 53-12 32nd Ave.

• A 22-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana after he was found in possession of a gravity knife at 12th Street and 41st Avenue.

• A 22-year-old black male was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after he was found in possession of marijuana at 9th Street and 27th Avenue.

Wednesday, August 1:

• A 70-year-old white male was charged with assault and harassment after he struck a victim in the eye with a bottle at 14-42 30th Dr.

• A 19-year-old Hispanic male was charged with disorderly conduct after he shouted obscenities in public at 41-02 Broadway.

• A 26-year-old male was charged with DWI, a traffic device violation and a motorcycle helmet violation after he was observed running a red light with no helmet on and when stopped at 30th Avenue and 35th Street exhibited signs of intoxication.
