Save 'John Doe' Bill I was reading today that there is a bill in Washington called the "John Doe Amendment" that in part would protect citizens who see something and say something from litigation. It is fighting for its life in a joint House-Senate committee charged with drafting the final version of a bill to implement the 9/11 Commission recommendations I just don't get it, but there are certain Democratic leaders in Washington who, if they get their way by killing the measure, would make patriotic citizens [subject to] libel [suits] if they report anything suspicious and it doesn't pan out. I find this most troubling. Our personal freedoms and safety are in jeopardy and as citizens we are the front line of defense. We are the eyes and ears of a nation at war with terrorism. If you remember, there were vigilant citizens this year who foiled plots at Fort Dix and JFK. Remember this: If we the people are handcuffed by some of these Democrats who definitely don't have the best interests of America at heart, we might as well hand over the keys to the store.
