St. John's Prep Celebrates Faculty And Staff

At a luncheon marking the end of the school year, St. John's Preparatory School saluted three faculty members and one staff member on their retirements as well as celebrating significant milestones of four members of the faculty.
Among the retirees were Sister Vera Carol, R.S.M., 30 years in the Social Studies Department; Sister Claudia Bradshaw, C.S.J, 23 years as chairperson of the Guidance Department; Sarah Davies 23 years as an English teacher, and Anna Bonfigli with 11 years in the business office.
Among the faculty reaching milestones in their careers were Kathleen Prager, currently the chairperson of the English Department who just completed her 25th year and three other members of the faculty who were presented with the Bene Merenti Award.
Recipients of the Bene Merenti Award were Harry Schlesiona, teacher and guidance counselor, Edward Flood, teacher, coach, and athletic director, and Maureen Flood, teacher, chairperson, and vice-principal.

Principal William Higgins presented the awards in appreciation for all their good work, and praised each of them for their great and loyal devotion to the students of St. John's Prep/Mater Christi.
