Starbucks Puerto Rico Coffee Comes To NYC In celebration of New York City's diverse Puerto Rican population, Starbucks Coffee will offer its Puerto Rico single origin coffee, which has previously been available only in Starbucks stores in Puerto Rico, for a limited time in New York City stores. The coffee is an excellent complement to the upcoming season and a testament to "La Isla del Encanto" (The Land of Enjoyment). "Starbucks recognizes the tremendous contributions the Puerto Rican community has made to the cultural tapestry of New York City," Starbucks Regional Spokesperson Dan Lewis said. "Bringing our Puerto Rico coffee to New York City is an excellent way to highlight the flavors of one of our coffee growing regions while honoring the culture and history of our Puerto Rican customers the best way we know how- by serving great tasting coffee." Slightly less acidic than other Latin American coffees, yet more pronounced than South Asian varieties, Puerto Rico offers a flavor that is light, yet full bodied, with a delicate, nutty taste. This unique and great tasting coffee may be a result of its notable pedigree. The Puerto Rican beans in this limited Puerto Rico offering are directly descended from King Louis XIV's personal groves via the island of Martinique. This extremely limited Puerto Rico coffee will be available in New York City until July 2, or while supplies last. Starbucks will offer complimentary samples of its coffee at various events throughout the month of June in New York City, encouraging customers to enjoy the flavors of Puerto Rico this summer. Starbucks Coffee Company provides an uplifting experience that enriches people's lives one moment, one human being, one extraordinary cup of coffee at a time.
