Resolution Sets 'Korean War Veterans' Day'

This past Monday, June 25, the 57th anniversary of the start of the Korean War, was celebrated in Queens as "Korean War Veterans' Day" under a resolution introduced by Assemblymember Ellen Young (D- Flushing).

Young joined with Assemblymember Ivan Lafayette, state Senator Toby Stavisky, City Councilmember John Liu, veterans and community leaders on the steps of Flushing Town Hall, 137- 35 Northern Blvd., to honor the sacrifices made by veterans of the Korean War.

Young paid tribute to the veterans "who sacrificed so much in that war".

Liu stated: "The sentiments of this important New York state resolution clearly honor the brave Americans who fought and gave their lives in the Korean War as an ultimate service to our country."
