Congratulations to you and to the entire staff of the Gazette on the newspaper's twenty-fifth anniversary. Local newspapers are so important to the fabric of a community. They inform readers, facilitate debate, and strengthen community identity. The Gazette has contributed a great deal to Queens County over the past twenty-five years, and I know that it will continue to do so for many more years to come.
