Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer is dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research. In 2000, 4-year-old cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott announced that she was selling lemonade on her front lawn to raise money to help find a cure for kids with cancer. For the next four years, Alex held an annual lemonade stand to raise money for childhood cancer research. Lemonade Days is a three-day national event that grew out of Alex's original front yard lemonade stand and is held over the same June weekend as Alex's original front yard stand. Following her inspirational example, thousands of lemonade stands and other fundraising events have been held across the country by children, schools, businesses, and organizations, all to benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for childhood cancer.
