Trattoria L'incontro Joins In Epicurean Event

(L. to r.): Debbi Buslik, Trattoria L'incontro Chef/Owner Rocco Sacramone and Linda Marsden at the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center (JCC) Epicurean Event.
Trattoria L'incontro, an upscale Italian restaurant in Astoria, generously supported Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center (JCC) at its Epicurean Event- an evening of wine and food tasting at the Metropolitan, Glen Cove, on April 19. The event raised close to $100,000 for the Young Onset Alzheimer's, Autism and Special Needs programs at Sid Jacobson JCC.

Trattoria L'incontro Chef/Owner Rocco Sacramone was one of more than 30 restaurateurs and caterers, all considered the finest on Long Island, who participated in the event. Listed as one of the Top Four Italian Restaurants in New York City by Zagat, Trattoria L'incontro features a combination of traditional and state-of-the-art fare. All dishes are prepared using only the freshest prime ingredients, keeping the integrity of traditional cuisine while incorporating a new style, with the focus on taste. The wine list features more than 250 bottles of wine, including some prized varieties and vintages that would please any wine connoisseur.

"It is very important to help these causes," Sacramone noted. "Where I lived in Italy, they had a very high incidence of Alzheimer's disease, and I wanted to support the JCC and its programs." Linda Marsden, co-chair of the event, solicited Sacramone's support for the Epicurean Event. "I knew he would come out and support us and everyone would love his delicious food," she said. "I have even invited him to be part of next year's event."

"The generous contributions of our members, friends, donors and sponsors help us to reach our vision to provide for those who need us the most," Beverly Gelb, JCC director of philanthropic initiatives, said.
