Thousands of shoppers flocked to Steinway Street, "the world's longest department store", this past weekend to avail themselves of bargains galore and enjoy free entertainment for all ages at Steinway Street Sale Days, an annual tradition since 1978. While their parents shopped, children were entertained by magicians Mr. Dukintux and Bobo the Hobo, who performed magic tricks, made balloon figures and did face painting. Since the first Steinway Sale Days circular was planned, printed and distributed by
Queens Gazette Publisher Tony Barsamian, smart shoppers have thronged the semiannual event for good deals on merchandise and family fun.
The sidewalk sale is sponsored by the Steinway Street Business Improvement District and the Queens Gazette.
