Tennis Bubbles Bob Above LIC Luxury Spa

The white "bubbles" rising in the distance above the Sunnyside Rail Yards are the home of the newest tennis spa in the area.

Tennis aficionados throughout Queens can re-string their rackets in a posh, new setting this summer when the CityView Racquet Club opens its doors at the former Swingline Factory building in Long Island City.

The $10 million luxury club features a lavish spa with massage, a gourmet restaurant and a full gym to help members relax and tone up before they hit the nets. The members-only club will offer a one-time fee of $1,200, along with an annual membership fee for tennis, squash and other privileges for approximately $4,000 a year. The exclusive club will boast seven tennis courts, four squash courts and a host of pricey privileges to rival any luxury club in Manhattan or the other boroughs. "It's for those who want to enjoy the full luxury club experience," developers said. Club owners said they are thrilled by its close proximity to highways and mass transportation, and by its breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline.
