114th Pct. Cops Execute 21st, 22nd Search Warrants

On Thursday May 3, at approximately 11:30 a.m., under the direct supervision of 114th Police Precinct Commanding Officer Inspector Brian McCarthy, the 21st and 22nd search warrants of 2007 were executed by 114th Precinct personnel. The warrants were for 38-53 12th St., a location targeted due to suspicion of illegal gambling, based on intelligence gathered. Two individuals were arrested and untaxed cigarettes, gambling records/paraphernalia and U.S. currency were confiscated.

Thursday, May 3:

+ A 18-year-old Hispanic female and four males, a 17-year-old Hispanic, a 21-year-old white and two others 19 and 21 years old, ethnicity unknown, were charged with criminal possession of marijuana after they were found in possession of marijuana at 25th Avenue and 47th Street.

+ A 44-year-old white male was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after he used a victim's credit card to make a purchase without permission at 25-95 43rd St.

+ A 53-year-old Hispanic female was charged with reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct after she removed a ladder from a house at 25-52 34h St. while a victim was at the top of the ladder.

+ A 17-year-old white male, engaged in a physical altercation with another person, dented a victim's vehicle and was charged with criminal mischief. The incident took place at 22-66 Steinway St.

+ A 42-year-old male was charged with violation of a local law and disorderly conduct after he was seen at 29-34 30th Ave. selling merchandise in public without a vending license.

+ A 36-year-old black male was observed operating a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. When he was stopped at 20th Avenue and Steinway Street, he was found to have a suspended license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and having an uninsured/non-inspected vehicle.

+ A 44-year-old black male stopped at 32- 33 48th Street and a 31-year-old white male and a 27-year-old Hispanic male stopped at a vehicle checkpoint at 48th Street and Northern Blvd all were discovered to have suspended licenses. All three were charged with aggravated unlicensed operator.

Wednesday, May 2:

+ A 24-year-old white male rode a bicycle on a sidewalk, causing a hazardous condition, and then erratically rode into traffic, almost causing a vehicle accident. He hid inside 48-18 Northern Blvd. without permission in order to avoid arrest, but was found and charged with reckless endangerment, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and violation of a local law.

+ A 39-year-old black male was found in possession of narcotics and a crack pipe at Queens Plaza North and 22nd Street and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Tuesday, May 1:

+ An 18-year-old Hispanic female was charged with aggravated harassment after she made threats on a victim's cellphone voice mail. The incident occurred at 28-15 35th St.

+ A 43-year-old Hispanic male was observed traveling the wrong way on a oneway street. When police attempted to stop him, he fled, driving erratically and pretending a cellphone was a gun, pointing it at officers. He was stopped at Astoria Boulevard and 41st Street and charged with forgery, reckless endangerment, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

+ A 38-year-old Hispanic was charged with assault and harassment after he punched a victim in the face. The incident took place at 21- 37 21st Ave.

+ A 28-year-old Hispanic female in a car accident at Northern Boulevard and 41st Street attempted to leave the scene, but was stopped by police. She exhibited signs of intoxication and was charged with leaving the scene of an accident in which an injury was sustained, DWI and unlicensed operator.

+ A 24-year-old black male was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after he was observed smoking marijuana in public at 35-38 38th St.

+ A 26-year-old white male was observed operating a vehicle without wearing a seat belt. When he was stopped at 38th Street and 31st Avenue, he was found in possession of a gravity knife. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and a seat belt violation.

+ A 53-year-old white male was observed running a red light. When he was stopped at 32-53 38th St., he was found to have a suspended license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and a traffic device violation.

Monday, April 30:

+ An 18-year-old Hispanic female was charged with aggravated harassment after she made numerous calls and threats to a victim. The incident took place at 28-15 35th St.

+ A 26-year-old Hispanic male was observed operating a vehicle with illegal window tinting and a broken taillight. When he was stopped at 32-26 Steinway St., he was found to have a suspended permit. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, no or insufficient tail lamps and an equipment violation.
