First Queens Green Awards Presented
The first Queens Green Awards were presented to four individuals considered outstanding leaders in environmental conservation in the borough on Monday April 23 by City Councilmember James Gennaro. Dorothy Lewandowski (second from l.), Queens Borough Commissioner, city Department of Parks and Recreation, Susan Lacerte, Queens Botanical Garden executive director, Amy Fischetti, Queens County Farm Museum executive director, and Allan Ludman, Globe NY Metro director (far r.), were the award recipients. The four awardees were recognized for their respective environmental achievements in Queens. The awards were conferred at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park's Ederle Terrace.
