The American Small Craft Association (TASCA), an all-volunteer, non-profit organization promotes and teaches safe sailing for all Queens and New York City residents for just $275 per person, which includes books, nine sailing lessons in the TASCA fleet of 14-foot American Sloops on Meadow Lake, in-class lectures.
Best of all when boats are available there's no extra charge for extra sailing time.
The first class begins Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m, other classes are also available on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. as well as Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meetings will be held in Queens Borough Hall, 120-55 Queens Blvd., Kew Gardens.
