Board of Directors at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, was recently honored by Community Board 1 of Astoria for her exemplary volunteer work. Brucculeri and 15 other nominees received awards during Women's History Month in March from Queens Borough President Helen M. Marshall.

Brucculeri is a lifelong resident of Queens County. She has been an integral part of the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island for more than 20 years. She has served on the Board of Directors at the House for the last nine years, two as president and in her present capacity as vice president.

She organizes "Friends and Family", a gala fundraising event held each year for the benefit of the House. This holiday extravaganza, complete with musical entertainment and activities for children, has grown in popularity since its inception in 1984 and has generated more than $800,000 in the last 22 years.

When Brucculeri is not volunteering or serving on the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island Board of Directors, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Jack, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island provides families a home away from home during their child's treatment at local hospitals. Located on the campus of Schneider Children's Hospital in New Hyde Park, the House has served more than 10,000 families since 1986, with more than half coming from Queens, Suffolk and Nassau Counties, as well as the surrounding metropolitan area. The warm and supportive atmosphere at the House and its proximity to local hospitals, allowing parents to be at their child's bedside within minutes, is priceless to families.
