114th Precinct Blotter Highlights: April 9, Easter Monday and the second to last day of Passover, was marked in the 114th Police Precinct by an assault on a victim that extended between 29th Street and Hoyt Avenue North to 23rd Avenue and 27th Street and saw eight males and one female arrested. The males, a 12- year-old Hispanic, two 13-year-old Hispanics, a 14-year-old black, a 15-yearold Hispanic, two 15-year-old blacks and a 16-year-old Hispanic, and the female, a 15-year-old black, were all charged with assault, menacing and harassment after they punched a victim and pushed the victim to the ground. + Another assault took place on April 9: two male Hispanics 22 and 24 years old were charged with assault after they punched a victim in the face at 12-18 Astoria Blvd. At the same location, a 28- year-old Hispanic female was charged with obstructing governmental administration when she acted disorderly and refused to leave after an officer requested that she do so. + Two Hispanic males 24 and 27 years old were charged with criminal mischief, burglary, criminal trespass and possession of burglars' tools after they were observed trying to break into a safe inside 69-35 Astoria Blvd. + A 24-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny after he was observed using a box cutter to steal merchandise from 50-01 Northern Blvd. + A 40-year-old black male was charged with criminal mischief and petit larceny after he was observed causing damage to display and stealing merchandise from 51- 10 Broadway. Easter Sunday, April 8: + A 72-year-old white male pulled a scooter up to the front doors of the 114th Precinct station house at 34-16 Astoria Blvd. and parked on the sidewalk. He was charged with reckless endangerment, obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct, driving an uninsured vehicle and driving on/across sidewalk after he began acting irate and was unable to produce insurance for the said vehicle. + A 26-year-old white male was charged with assault and harassment after he grabbed a female victim by the hair and throat, punched and kicked her and pushed her to the ground. The incident occurred at 19-32 77th St. + At 33-10 Crescent St., a 27-year-old swung a chain at a victim, causing a scratch. He was charged with assault. + A 48-year-old Hispanic male was observed at 32-12 Steinway St. passed out over the steering wheel while his vehicle was running. He exhibited signs of intoxication upon arousal and was charged with DWI. + A 48-year-old white male was charged with running an unlicensed bottle club, engaging in prohibited sale of alcoholic beverages, unlicensed warehouse liquor storage, after hours sale of alcoholic beverages and criminal nuisance when he was found in control of an establishment at 29-08 Hoyt Avenue South, where alcohol was being served after hours. + A 34-year-old Hispanic male was observed urinating in public at 36th Avenue and 35th Street and produced a forged Resident Alien card. He was charged with forgery and violation of a local law. Saturday, April 7: + A 17-year-old white male was observed changing lanes without signaling with music playing at an unreasonable volume. When he was stopped at Crescent Street and 31st Avenue, he was found to be in possession of a gravity knife. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and illegally signaling. + A 33-year-old black male committed a burglary and was observed operating a stolen vehicle in an attempt to flee. He struck two parked vehicles and fled on foot. He was apprehended at Crescent Street and 31st Avenue and found to have a suspended license. He was charged with burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property, grand larceny, unauthorized use of a vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operator and leaving the scene of an accident. + A 25-year-old black male violated a valid order of protection by going to a victim's residence. He was arrested at 20-32 19th St. and charged with criminal contempt and harassment. + Two males 24 and 27 years old were observed drinking brandy in public inside a closed park at Hoyt Avenue North and 19th Street and were also found in possession of a gravity knife. They were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal trespass and violation of a local law. Good Friday, April 6: + A 39-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal mischief after he punched and broke a window at 31-02 44th St. without permission. + A 53-year-old Asian male was charged with possession of a forged instrument, criminal trespass, trademark counterfeiting and violation of a local law after he was observed selling counterfeit DVDs at 50-10 Northern Blvd. without permission and without a vending license. + A 15-year-old white female and three Hispanic males, one 16 and two 17 years old, were charged with robbery and misapplication of property after they forcibly removed a victim's cellphone at 37-11 30 Ave. + A 48-year-old white male was charged with criminal possession of marijuana after he was observed with marijuana in public at Astoria Boulevard and 33rd Street. + A 54-year-old Hispanic male was charged with assault and criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was observed hitting a victim in the head with a metal chair at 23rd Avenue and 31st Street. |
