Blotter Highlights: Some local residents partied a little too heartily on St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17, according to police of the 114th Precinct. The revelry and concomitant arrests carried over into the following day, Sunday, March 18. Saturday, March 17: + At Broadway and 35th Street, three Hispanic males 24, 29 and 30 years old, were charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after they were seen fighting in public. + At 29-16 Hoyt Ave. South, a 22- year-old Hispanic female was charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after she attempted to prevent 114th Precinct police officers from arresting another person. + The intersection of Hoyt Avenue South and 31st Street was the scene of a fight between a 22-year-old Hispanic female and a 23-year-old Hispanic male; the male combatant was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after he resisted being handcuffed, and the female interfered with police as they tried to arrest the male and was charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. + At Steinway Street and 34th Avenue, a 20-year-old white male yelled obscenities in public while drinking a beer and holding a marijuana pipe. He was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public. + A 29-year-old Hispanic male and a 42-year-old Asian male repeatedly punched and kicked a victim at 32-50 Vernon Blvd.; both were charged with assault and disorderly conduct. + At Broadway and 30th Street, a 26- year-old white male struck a victim with a metal object and punched and choked the victim. The perpetrator was also found in possession of a knife. He was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment. + A 30-year-old Hispanic male was arrested at the 114th Precinct station house at 34-16 Astoria Blvd. and charged with criminal trespass, harassment and disorderly conduct after making obscene remarks at a victim, despite warnings from law enforcement personnel. + A 24-year-old white male was observed at 12th Street and 35th Avenue operating a vehicle without wearing a seat belt and turning without signaling. He was found to have a suspended license and was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operator, illegal signal and driving without a seat belt. Sunday, March 18: + At 36-08 33rd St.., five Hispanic males, two 20 years old, two 21 years old one 23 years old and another male, also 23 years old, were arrested for fighting in public and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. + At 11-09 36th Ave., an 18-year-old Hispanic male pushed a female victim to the ground and pulled her out of the room. He was charged with assault and harassment. + A 24-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny after he was observed stealing CDs from 50-01 Northern Blvd. Friday, March 16: + A 58-year-old white male was arrested at the 114th Precinct station house, 34-16 Astoria Blvd., and charged with assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after he punched a victim in the face several times. + At 33-10 Crescent St., a 53-year-old white male was charged with menacing and harassment after he threatened a victim with a butcher knife. Tuesday, March 20: + A 19-year-old Hispanic male used physical force against a victim at 31-52 34th St. and was charged with assault and harassment. + A 22-year-old Hispanic male wanted on an active warrant for failing to appear in court for trespassing was arrested at 30-08 30th Ave. and charged with bail jumping. + A 25-year-old white female and a 28-year-old white male were arrested at 11-20 33rd Ave. and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle after they were observed using a needle to administer heroin. + A 56-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal contempt after he pushed a victim at 24-16 23rd Ave., violating a valid order of protection. + A 23-year-old white male was charged with tampering with physical evidence and obstructing governmental administration after he removed a vehicle that was in police custody at the 114th Precinct station house at 34-16 Astoria Blvd. + Two 17-year-old white males were charged with assault and menacing after they hit a victim in the face with a snowball at 31st Avenue and 47th Street, near William C. Bryant H.S. + A 14-year-old Hispanic male was charged with criminal mischief, making graffiti and possession of a graffiti instrument after he was observed making graffiti at 21st Street and 31st Drive, in the vicinity of I.S 126. |
