Vallone Looking Out For Fit Kids

City Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr. (D- Astoria) recently checked out a new program at P.S. 234 in Astoria which is designed to keep students physically fit and active during their school recess.

The program is run by Asphalt Green, which already runs a similar program at P.S. 85, also in Astoria. The two schools are part of a 21-school initiative that helps more than 3,000 students to stay physically fit.

Vallone secured funding for the program, which he hopes will set kids on a lifelong path of healthy exercise.
