I encourage anyone who is not yet a recreation center member to spend a free Saturday lifting weights, taking a computer class, or learning how to play a musical instrument at one of the participating centers. From team sports to art classes, we offer something for everyone." Super Saturdays gives children the opportunity to showcase their basketball and track and field talents through clinics and team play each week. The program also features arts and crafts for children and adults, and offers a variety of table games like billiards, table tennis, and air hockey, in addition to other free activities. Many centers offer computer resource instruction. Since 1910, the City of New York Department of Parks & Recreation has provided the most affordable and extensive network of recreational services throughout the city. Recreation facilities offer services for all ages with indoor pools, weight rooms, basketball courts, dance studios, boxing rings, art studios, game rooms, and libraries. Each facility is equipped with professional staff that provide organized and free-play activities that are safe, fun, and educational. |
