Explore How Life Works At NYHOS

Identical twins Aldrich and Axel Wattimena, age 4 from Elmhurst, exploring GENOME: The Secret of How Life Works, a special exhibition about genes at the New York Hall of Science.
Become a DNA Specialist at the New York Hall of Science (NYHOS). Find the secret, draw it up and show the world that you too can crack the code on DNA. Now through May 6 at the new Hall of Science, kids and parents can work together and learn what the human genome is all about through the interactive exhibition, GENOME: The Secret of How Life Works, and a variety of activities.

Weekends through May 6 explore:

+The Science of Me, Live Science Theater presentation, 2 and 3 p.m.

+DNA craft activity session, 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., ages 6 and up, $3 per participant.

+Cellular illustration activity session 4:30 p.m., ages 6 and up, $3 per participant.

+D-N-Amazing, Family Drop-in Workshop, 2:30 p.m., ages 7 and up.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg proclaimed February 20 "Twin-tieth" honoring identical twins in the New York area. Marking the occasion identical twins gathered at the New York Hall of Science in Corona to explore the GENOME exhibit.

Until May 6, the Hall is offering visitors with the same genome- identical twins- a 2-for-1 admission.

GENOME: The Secret of How Life Works is made possible by Pfizer Inc. and was produced by Evergreen Exhibitions in collaboration with the National Human Research Institute (NHGRI), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Whitehead Institute/MIT Center for Genome Research.

The New York Hall of Science is New York City's hands-on science and technology center with some 400 interactive exhibits to help visitors explore the wonder and excitement of biology, chemistry and physics. Admission is $11 for adults and $8 for children, ages 2 to 17, college students with valid ID, and seniors (62+) and persons with the same genome get in for 2-for-1.
