BEG PARDON

The article "Gianaris Blasts Con Ed Again" by John Toscano (Gazette, Mar. 7, 2007, page 31) quoted a spokesperson for Consolidated Edison as saying the utility planned to spend $1.5 million a year to upgrade the electrical system. The amount is $1.5 billion. WRONG ELEVATOR CITED

The article "Lefrak Officials: Elevator Deaths are 'Tragic Accident'" by Liz Goff in the February 14 edition of the Gazette reported incorrect information provided by the city Department of Buildings. The Lefrak City elevator in the shaft of which two half-brothers died on February 4 had not been cited for worn or faulty equipment and had passed its most recent inspection. The conditions reported by the Buildings Department were in fact attributable to a different elevator.
