A 38-year-old Queens man is facing time in the cooler after cops nabbed him leaving a Kew Gardens deli through an air conditioner casing.

Police said Ishmeal Lopez broke into the deli at 123-02 Metropolitan Ave. at about 5 a.m. on January 31 by pushing in the "guts" of a store air conditioner and climbing through the casing.

Cops busted Lopez when he was half-way out of the empty casing, his pockets filled with burglary tools, cash and bank checks.

Sources said Lopez didn't see the cops waiting to arrest him until he looked up as he tried to wiggle through the casing.

Lopez, dubbed the borough's "dumbest burglar" by law enforcement, was charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property and possession of burglar's tools. 107th Precinct

Police in Forest Hills are seeking help from the public to identify and locate a brazen bandit sought in connection with a foiled bank robbery on January 8 and a January 26 bank robbery where he walked away with cash.

Queens police officials last week released a photo of the suspect who, they said, walked into a Chase Bank branch at 118-30 Queens Blvd. on January 8, where he passed a note to a teller demanding money.

Edison Guaman, 17, of 42nd Avenue in Corona, was charged in a bedside arraignment at Elmhurst Hospital Center with assault, attempted robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest, authorities said.
