Boys And Girls Club Holds 'Variety Idol' This Valentine's Day, February 14 at 6 p.m., the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens will sponsor a talent show called Variety Idol featuring children of all ages from the club. Participants will sing, dance, do acrobatics and demonstrate fashion design. A panel of local artists, including Remy Ma, guest celebrity, will judge all contestants. Each piece will be judged based on style, originality and skill. Besides supporting the community, audience members can have their photo, taken with Remy Ma. Tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for kids and can be purchased at the door or in advance at the club. Come early- seating is limited. The Salah M. Hassanein Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens offers after-school programs for children ages six to 17, Monday through Friday, 2:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a donation of $12 a year. The club features a junior Olympicsize swimming pool and a gymnasium. Club professionals provide homework assistance, computer training, dance and drama, musical tutoring, game tournaments and arts and crafts to more than 200 children daily.
