Violent End For Troubled Couple

Police of the 108th Precinct said a Queens man with a history of violence shot and killed his girlfriend in her Sunnyside home on January 24 and then turned the gun on himself in a murder-suicide that ended the couple's abusive, tumultuous relationship.

Cops said Piedad Alcivir arrived home from church services on Wednesday night to find her daughter's blood-soaked body sprawled on a living room couch, and the boyfriend's body lying nearby on the floor.

Police said Gabriella Alcivir, 21, and her unidentified boyfriend died of a single shot in the head from a .22-caliber pistol.

Authorities said Gabriella Alcivir had obtained an Order of Protection against her 30-year-old boyfriend in September, after she suffered a violent beating by the man. Friends of the couple said they reconciled recently, but continued to argue.

"It's too sad, but something like this was bound to happen," friends said.

Man, 95, Dies In Smashup With Bus

A 95-year-old Flushing man was killed on January 24 after he caused an accident involving another car and a school bus carrying 21 youngsters, police said.

109th Precinct (Flushing/Whitestone) police said Montague Levy was traveling eastbound in his silver Dodge on Northern Boulevard at about 9 p.m. when he made an illegal right turn onto Prince Street, where he sideswiped the other car and rearended the school bus.

Levy was taken to New York Hospital of Queens, where he suffered a heart attack and died a short while later, police said.

Cops said none of the children on the bus were injured, and the other drivers were not hurt in the collision.

110th Precinct Cops Hunt Joyriders

Cops at the 110th Precinct (Elmhurst/Corona) are searching for a pair of brazen thieves who snatched an armored van outside a Corona McDonald's Restaurant on January 25.

Police said guards from the State Armored Car Service left the van idling, with the keys in the ignition, while they went into the restaurant for breakfast at about 6:30 a.m. The guards discovered the van was missing when they left the restaurant and immediately called 911, police sources said.

Cops searching for the van spotted it about an hour later, parked at 108th Street and 41st Avenue, police said.

Authorities said the thieves apparently drove the van a few blocks before they realized their mistake and bailed out, leaving all the cash behind.

Police are asking anyone with information on the thieves to call the Crimestoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.

111th Precinct (Bayside)

+ Wee Complication For Bayside Man

A 19-year-old Bayside man, busted for urinating on a local street on January 12, is now facing jail time for allegedly forging identification papers, police said.

Authorities said James Kang was arrested after police of the 111th Precinct on routine patrol spotted him at about 3:15 a.m., urinating in front of 45-53 Bell Blvd. When the cops asked Kang for identification, he handed over bogus papers, authorities said.

Kang was charged with forgery, possession of a forged instrument and public urination. He could face up to seven years in prison, if convicted.

+ Buildings Worker Charged In DWI

Cops in Bayside arrested a 56-year-old city Buildings Department (DOB) worker on January 25 for drunk driving- in a Buildings Department vehicle.

Police said Paul Kammerer, an associate buildings inspector in Manhattan, was busted at 11 p.m., when police stopped the car at the corner of 43rd Avenue and 220th Place and discovered he was intoxicated.

A DOB spokesperson said Kammerer is under investigation and will face disciplinary action if the charges are substantiated.

Bottle Basher Busted In 115th Pct.

Cops in the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights arrested a 32-year-old Queens man on January 20 after he stabbed another man with a broken bottle and repeatedly punched the victim in the face during a street brawl.

Police said Mohammed Alam and an accomplice "jumped and attacked" the unidentified victim outside his 68th Street home on January 15. The pair beat the victim, and Alam then used a broken bottle to stab him in the abdomen, police said. Alam and the accomplice then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Alam was charged with assault, criminal mischief and harassment, authorities said. Police are still searching for the accomplice.
