Driving Resolution
Ecclesiastes admonishes us: "There is a time to love". My time to rejoice in this exhortation comes at 2:30 every afternoon when I hop into my car and drive 10 miles to pick up my two grandchildren from the school bus. Every day I eagerly look forward to this familial reunion with my grandtots. It is imperative therefore that I get to my destination on time to meet this bus lest I cause them needless anxiety. However, saying this, I may be constrained from on-time-arrival by being involved in an accident enroute. And so in avoidance of this mishap I have made a new year's resolution and an oath to the god of drivers (if there is one): "To drive like I mean to get there." Better late than never is not an option. Nu! |
