Bayside Senior Center Celebrates Renovations
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating renovations to the Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens Bayside Senior Center are (l. to r.): Millie Schmalfuss of the Department for the Aging; Bayside Senior Center member Ruth Falloni; Assemblymember Mark Weprin; Hilda Brein, president of the Advisory Board for the Bayside Senior Center; Judy Kleve, Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens project director for aging; Henrique Silva of Rique Construction; Peggy Kelleher, Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens Services for Older Adults vice president, and Christina Yang, Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens Services for Older Adults associate director. Renovations included sidewalk repairs, brick planters to improve the center's aesthetics and automatic doors installed at the entrance.

Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens Bayside Senior Center recently celebrated renovations to the site in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Renovations included much-needed repairs to the sidewalk and brick planters to improve the aesthetics of the site. Automatic doors were also installed at the entrance. Seniors, staff and friends celebrated the completion of the renovations. Assemblymember Mark Weprin was in attendance.

The Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens Bayside Senior Center provides hot lunch, transportation, educational and recreational services as well as case assistance to seniors age 60 and over, Monday through Friday. The program is funded under contract with the City Department for the Aging.
