Grants Offered To Work At Socrates Sculpture Park

Application guidelines are available online for artists who would like to work at the Park and who could benefit from grants that are being offered. Applications are due by Jan. 22.

At the beginning of Socrates Sculpture Park’s 20th anniversary year in 2006 the Park drew some 3,000 visitors, hosted the EAF06 exhibition which featured new works by 20 fellowship artists, and published a 250-page, hard-cover chronicle of the Park’s history.

As the 20th anniversary celebration in 2007 continues, there are plans for exciting new exhibitions, workshops, films, classes and dynamic events that will highlight the innovative spirit and creative energy that has been the signature of Socrates Sculpture Park since its founding.

Some of the many things to look forward to in 2007 include:

•The Armory Show, Feb. 22-26

•Kite Flight - Skyscrapers!, Apr. 29, in collaboration with The Noguchi Museum

•LIC/NYC, opening May on view through August •Summer Solstice Celebration, Jun. 21 •Outdoor Cinema, July and August

•Float, July and August

•EAF07: 2007 Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition, opening in September

•Saturday Sculpture Workshops, May to September

•Yoga and Tai Chi Classes, May to September
