Workshop For Baby Boomers

For baby boomers nearing retirement, and their family and friends, LaGuardia Community College’s adult and continuing education program is offering on January 25 a new workshop that explores ways to create a rewarding retirement.

The Redefining Retirement workshop offers techniques to reexamine personal goals, identify genuine interests, and explore opportunities. Participants will discover who they are beyond their work role; explore new approaches to meet their needs for recognition, accomplishment and productivity; and find satisfying ways to use their talents and skills to create a rewarding retirement.

Heading the workshop is Regina Kessler, author of Who Says Retirement Has to Be Boring?

Kessler has run recreation programs at Bellevue Hospital and the New York Association for the Blind and served as leisure specialist for Retirement Advisors, working with Fortune 500 companies preparing employees for retirement leisure.

The three-hour workshop begins at 6:30 p.m. The fee is $35. There is a $10 one-time registration fee. Discounts are available for seniors. You can request that the full winter catalog be mailed to you.

To register, call (718) 482-7244, Mondays to Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Accepted are Visa, Discover, American Express and MasterCard. Or come to the college, at 31-10 Thomson Avenue, room M-141.
