hundred toys that staffers in the District
Attorney's Office collected during the past month to
distribute to needy children at St. Mary's Children Center in
Flushing; Centro Hispano "Cuzcatlan" in Jamaica;
Cambria Heights Community Church in Cambria Heights, and Lawrence
Nursing Care Center in Far Rockaway. Community
Coordinators Felix Martinez and Robbie Chin transformed the office
van into a sleigh on wheels to deliver the
toys.Several hundred toys collected during the Yuletide toy drive held annually by the Office of Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown have been distributed to needy children at three agencies in the borough. The toy drive began on December 1 when collection boxes were placed in corridors at three office sites: 125-01 and 120-55 Queens Blvd. and 80-02 Kew Gardens Rd.
The drive was coordinated by the District Attorney's Counsel, Lois Raff, with the assistance of Executive Assistant District Attorney Jesse Sligh, and their staff members. Community Coordinators Felix Martinez and Robbie Chin transformed the office van into a sleigh on wheels that visited St. Mary's Children Center in Flushing; Centro Hispano "Cuzcatlan" in Jamaica; Cambria Heights Community Church in Cambria Heights, and Lawrence Nursing Care Center in Far Rockaway, where Martinez and Chin made the deliveries.
"I am proud of our generous and thoughtful staff members
who always remember to donate a toy that needy children can share in the spirit
of the season," Brown said. "Their giving and sharing during the holidays is a
bright and shining reflection of their devotion to public service."
