McCann's Pub and Grill has been serving good food and libation to the Astoria community for the past ten years. A convivial, youthful crowd gathers each evening for fantastic cocktails such as the watermelon martini, strawberry daiquiri, pina colada and margaritas. A selection of over a dozen beers, served by the pint or pitcher, offers a brew for everyone. Flat screen televisions over the bar allow for crystal clear viewing of multiple sporting events. Owner Paul Fogarty and John, the amiable manager, chat with guests and see to it that everyone is having a good time.

  www.McCannsPubNYC.com McCann's serves good, honest food as well, from traditional pub dishes such as Shepherd's Pie (excellent here) to steaks, chicken and more. We began with some tempting appetizers that can be eaten at the bar or at one of the pub tables. Chicken quesadillas are large enough to have as an entrée and are filled with tender chicken and melted cheese, served with chunky salsa and creamy sour cream ($7.95). The Buffalo wings are tender and juicy and can be ordered as spicy as you like them. Potato skins are full of melted cheese and bacon and served hot and crispy for just $6.95 for a large portion. You can also have them filled with McCann's famous chili or vegetables and cheese. McCann's chili is thick and meaty and can be ordered as an appetizer too. Many of the regulars love the jalapeño poppers, which are piquant jalapeño peppers filled with cheese and fried with a crunchy coating ($6.75). Next time we'll try the steak tidbits, which are very tender and juicy, as told to us by our friendly waitperson. The Mc- Cann's Sampler is a great deal which offers an assortment of their best appetizers and a pitcher of beer for just $16.

Whether you feel like a light snack, a juicy burger or a full meal, McCann's has got it and everything is always served fresh and hot by the friendly wait staff. A few chicken dishes appear on the menu, all nicely prepared, such as chicken Francese, with a lemony butter and white wine sauce, chicken teriyaki or Marsala, and a rib-sticking chicken cordon bleu, stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese ($11.95). Pasta dishes include penne with light tomato basil sauce or penne a la vodka. Meat eaters will revel in a 12-ounce shell steak or the Hungry Man steak cooked to order then smothered in mushrooms and onions ($15.95). Most entrées are served with mixed vegetables and your choice of mashed potatoes, steak fries, which are addictive, or rice. The Cajun chicken sandwich is so big, it defies you to finish it in one sitting and is piled high with nicely spiced chicken breast, lettuce and tomato, served with thick cut steak fries $8.25.

McCann's burgers and wraps are quite popular as well. Big, juicy burgers are served with your choice of cheese, including American, cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, provolone and pepper jack. Top them off with bacon, onions or mushrooms and these burgers are served to you with steak fries, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle for about $8.50. The McCann wrap is one of the most popular and includes grilled chicken, tomato, bacon and mushrooms ($8.75).

You'll find a party-like atmosphere seven nights a week at McCann's with nightly specials. Monday nights feature $3.50 pints of premium beer from 7:30 until 10:00pm. Airline employees also get special discounts on drinks. Tuesday nights feature McCann's famous burgers and a pint for only $11.50. Wednesday nights invite Ladies to come and enjoy half price drinks nearly all night long. Thirsty Thursdays feature $5.50 Margaritas and the weekends go all out with Free Cash Drawings, drink specials and more.
