114th Police Precinct Blotter Monday, December 18: A 29-year-old Asian male was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny after he was observed opening DVDs and placing them inside his jacket, then passing all points of sale to exit a store at 50-01 Northern Blvd. • A 36-year-old Hispanic male was observed riding a bicycle recklessly on the sidewalk. When he was stopped at the northwest corner of 36th Avenue and 22nd Street, he became nervous and admitted he was in possession of a crack pipe with residue. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. • A 15-year-old white male was asked for a hall pass while in William C. Bryant H.S., 48-10 31st Ave. When he opened his school bag, multiple bags of marijuana were in plain view. He was charged with criminal possession of marijuana. • A 46-year-old Hispanic male was observed failing to stop at a stop sign at the southeast corner of 34th Street and 38th Avenue. When the suspect was stopped, the arresting officer smelled an alcoholic beverage on the suspect’s breath. The suspect’s blood alcohol content was 0.177. • A 21-year-old black male was observed riding a bicycle on the sidewalk at the southwest corner of 28th Street and 35th Avenue, impeding pedestrian traffic. He was found to be in possession of a black imitation pistol and was charged with criminal possession of a weapon. • A 17-year-old black male was observed riding a bicycle on the sidewalk at the southwest corner of 28th Street and 35th Avenue, causing pedestrians to step aside to avoid being hit. He was charged with violation of a local law. Tuesday, December 19: • A 48-year-old white male was observed driving with a broken taillight. When he was stopped at 30-07 21st St., a DMV check revealed his license had been suspended five times. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and vehicular traffic law violations. • A 52-year-old white female was observed placing items in her bag and passing all points of sale at 31-09 Ditmars Blvd. Stopped by security, she was found with stolen property on her person and was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny. • A 26-year-old Hispanic male was observed with an open container of alcohol at the northwest corner of Broadway and 43rd Street. He did not have a valid ID. A search incidental to his arrest revealed three straws containing cocaine residue and a screwdriver, commonly used to commit burglaries. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, violation of a local law and possession of burglar’s tools. • The manager of a business establishment at 25-28 Broadway, a 30-year-old white female, wrote four checks totaling $9,394.47 to herself and signed and cashed them without permission or authority of the business owner. She was charged with forgery, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. Wednesday, December 20: • A 23-year-old black female was observed in front of 40-02 10th St. in a drug transaction with another person, who was also apprehended, and a quantity of marijuana was recovered. The suspect was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. • A 25-year-old Asian male was observed driving through a steady red light. When he was stopped at the northwest corner of 27th Street and Hoyt Avenue North, a DMV check revealed his license had been suspended three times. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and a motor vehicle violation. • At the northwest corner of Broadway and 34th Street, a 32-year-old Hispanic male was identified by a victim as riding a bicycle that had been stolen from the victim’s home on September 15 of this year. The suspect was charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny • In front of Long Island City H.S., 14-30 Broadway, an 18-year-old black male was observed on school property with no ID and with a switchblade knife on his person. He was found to be on parole for robbery and is a suspected gang member. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal trespass and loitering. • An 18-year-old white male was observed walking on a rooftop. When he was stopped inside of 28-18 24th Ave., he reached into his pocket and a glassine envelope fell to the ground. The envelope was later found to contain marijuana. The suspect was charged with criminal possession of marijuana. Thursday, December 21 • After he traveled along Steinway Street from Northern Boulevard to 36th Avenue, a 30-year-old white male was pulled over for a traffic infraction and found to have a suspended license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator. • At 36th Street and 36th Avenue a 32-year-old white male seen exiting a vehicle with a broken window fled the scene. When he was apprehended, he was found to be in possession of a screwdriver, a gravity knife and medication belonging to the owner of the vehicle. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, grand larceny, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal possession of stolen property, possession of burglar’s tools and resisting arrest. • A 29-year-old Hispanic male was observed making an illegal left turn. When he was stopped at Astoria Boulevard and Crescent Street, he was found to have a suspended license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and failure to obey a traffic device. • A 28-year-old white male was found in possession of crack at Northern Boulevard and 48th Street. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. • Two black females 14 and 15 years old were charged with petit larceny after they were observed stealing merchandise from 50-01 Northern Blvd. • A 40-year-old Hispanic male was charged with assault after he grabbed a female victim's arm and slapped her in the face. The incident occurred at 30-50 23rd St. Friday, December 22: • At Ditmars Boulevard and 28th Street, a 23- year-old white male repeatedly punched and slapped a victim and caused damage to the victim’s vehicle windshield and GPS system. The perpetrator was charged with criminal mischief, assault and harassment. • A 38-year-old Hispanic male repeatedly entered 35-35 Crescent St. without permission and harassed a female victim. He was charged with aggravated harassment. • A 37-year-old male involved in a vehicle accident at Northern Boulevard and 31 Street exhibited signs of intoxication. He was charged with DWI. • At 21-61 Steinway St. a 26-year-old Hispanic male was yelling in public at an unreasonable hour and refused to comply with a lawful order. He was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct. • A 50-year-old Hispanic male was observed disobeying pavement markings. When he was stopped at 38th Street and Broadway, he exhibited signs of intoxication. He was charged with DWI. • A 40-year-old Hispanic male was observed making an illegal turn while not wearing a seatbelt. When he was stopped at Broadway and 33rd Street, he exhibited signs of intoxication. He was charged with DWI, illegally signaling and violation of a seat belt law. • A 34-year-old Hispanic male was observed swerving his vehicle. When he was stopped at 38th Street and Broadway, he exhibited signs of intoxication. He was charged with DWI, unlicensed operator and failure to obey a traffic device. • An 18-year-old black male and a 19-year-old Hispanic female were found on property at 50th Street and 31st Avenue without permission and fought with officers when they were apprehended. They were charged with resisting arrest and criminal trespass. Saturday, December 23: • A 27-year-old Hispanic male was observed with an open container of beer in public and was without identification at Broadway and 45th Street. He was charged with resisting arrest and having an open container in public. • A 38-year-old Hispanic male was observed sleeping behind the wheel of a running vehicle at 35th Avenue and Steinway Street with an open can of beer next to him. He was also found in possession of a fake New York state ID. He was charged with forgery, possession of a forged instrument, DWI, and unlicensed operator. • At 28th Avenue and 34th Street a 31-year-old white male threatened a victim while swinging a belt buckle at the victim. The perpetrator was charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, disorderly conduct and harassment. • A 36-year-old Hispanic male was observed sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle that was stopped at 31st Street and 39th Avenue. He exhibited signs of intoxication and was charged with DWI . • At Broadway and 21st Street, two black males 15 and 16 years old demanded a victim’s belongings. The victim refused to comply and they beat the victim. They were found in possession of the victim’s property and were charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. • An 18-year-old white male was observed acting unruly and was loud in public at 29th Street and 34th Avenue. He was unable to produce ID and was found in possession of cocaine. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct. Sunday, December 24: • At 21-77 33rd St., a 29-year-old Hispanic male stole a female victim's car keys, kicked her in the face and body and took the vehicle. He was charged with robbery, assault, criminal possession of stolen property and harassment. • A 30-year-old white male banged on a victim’s door, yelled repeatedly and entered 34-07 36th Ave. without permission. He was charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass and aggravated harassment. |
