Jessica Johnson Creates And Performs Off B'way

The sleeper hit of the 2006 New York International Fringe Festival "Oblivious To Everyone" is a one-woman play created and performed by Astoria resident Jessica Lynn Johnson. A social satire about the media's fierce impact on women, "Oblivious To Everyone" will be at The Studio Theatre in the Theatre Row Complex, 410 W. 42nd St. in Manhattan, from December 1-16.

"Oblivious To Everyone" looks at the media's portrayal of and influence on the style and psyche of the modern woman, and the audience will discover just how oblivious the central character, Carrie, a Paris Hilton wannabe really is. The play is appropriate for ages 17 and up.

Toni Senecal, Fox 5 News said, "The show is hilarious. But the theme, it's quite serious".

Johnson, received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from Missouri State University. At Harvard, she studied with Yuri Yeremin as part of the Moscow Art Theater Stanislausky Summer Academy Program .

Performances run Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. with no intermission. Tickets are $16.25 per person and $11.25 per person for students and seniors, and can be purchased by calling 212.279.4200 or going to www.ticketcentral.com.
