LIC H.S. Students Earn AP Awards

Sixteen students at Long Island City H.S. have been designated AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Long Island City H.S. offers its students a variety of advanced placement courses, ranging from art history to government.

The College Board Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school and to receive college credit for successful performance in their exams.

Nicole Dermit qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Lanna Leite qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award, earning an average grade of 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Christina Buliga, Katie Cooper, Tatiana Echeverry, Lissette Espinoza, Hernan Giraldo, Gabriela Gonzalez, Samantha Kuppler, Christian Lopez, Jessica Marinez, Kristal Polonia, Diana Ramos, Belitza Rodriguez, Rehan Shafique and Karina Sinchez all qualified for the AP Scholars Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher.
